Year 6 Weekly Blog

17.1.25
Good afternoon,
We have had a very busy week in Year 6!
The children really impressed us with their efforts and hard work during Bikeability at the beginning of the week. The instructors were really impressed with how well behaved they were throughout the sessions. The children were also really positive about the experience.
In maths this week we have begun our topic on ratio. This is the first time the children have learnt about ratio in school so we've been discussing the ratio language and the ratio symbol. We will be applying this to problems next week.
In English, we have continued our unit focused on 'The Lion and the Unicorn'. The children have been writing letters in role as Lenny, the main character. In Guided Reading, we have looked at another extract from 'Letters from the Lighthouse' and the children will be answering comprehension questions linked to this next week.
If your child was in Group 2 for Forest School before Christmas, they are owed an extra session which had to be postponed. This will be on Tuesday 21st January, next week, so please send your child in with their Forest School clothes. The children have been made aware and will be reminded on Monday.
We hope you all have a good weekend.
