Good afternoon, 

This week, in English, we have been looking at a short story called 'A Night at the Frost Fair' by Emma Carroll. The children are planning their own stories which will be based on some of the key themes within these stories, and they will write these next week.

In maths, we have moved on to finding fractions of an amount and finding missing fractions and whole numbers within a problem. This is more challenging and the children will do some further work on this next week to make sure they are really confident.

For our career session this afternoon, we were visited by Jenny Weddell and her colleague Ross. Jenny is a neonatal nurse and Ross is a paramedic. The children had the opportunity to look inside an ambulance as well as carry out some activities in the classroom. They completed a quiz on the laptops as well. Thank you to Jenny and Ross for giving up their time and coming in to visit us.

We have been practising our singing for the Carol Service on Thursday next week. The Year 6 children will also be performing their musical piece that they have been working on with Mr Thomas in their music lessons. We hope to see lots of you there.
