Year 6 Weekly Blog

6.12.24
Good afternoon,
The Christmas celebrations have kick-started in Year 6 over the last few weeks. The Winter Wonderland was a lovely event last week and it was great to see so many Year 6 children getting into the Christmas spirit. We have decorated our classroom and today we watched the KS1 Nativity which was really special.
Over the next two weeks, although there are some lovely events going on, we will still be continuing with our English and maths units as well as completing other units of work from the wider curriculum.
This week, in English, we have finished studying 'Floodland' and the children have written some fantastic diary entries today. In maths, we have continued our work on fractions, and we will be carrying on with this topic next week.
We are particularly looking forward to our D&T project where the children will be making their own Christmas garlands that they have been researching and designing.
We have had some great career sessions over the last few weeks, with a visit from Jo Kent from the BBC last week, and a visit from Martin and Michael, two local farmers, this week.
We hope you have a great weekend.
