Good afternoon,

This week, in maths, we finished our unit on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will complete an end of unit assessment on Monday to decide if there's anything that we need to further consolidate. 

In English, we have also finished our unit on the 'black hole' video. The children wrote some brilliant persuasive letters before editing these and typing them up. Next week we will move onto a new short unit to lead us into half-term. 

In our career session today, we were visited by Megan who works in marketing for The New Forest Show and New Forest Camping. She taught the children about her journey into marketing and graphic design. The children were then tasked with designing their own persuasive posters to encourage people to come to the New Forest.

We also had our visit to Highcliffe secondary school this week. When we have been out on trips this half-term, or when we have had visitors in to see Y6, the children's behaviour has been brilliant, representing the school well, and we have been really impressed and proud of them. 

The children have brought home forms today so that we can obtain permission for photos on our trip, which was postponed from this week, to New Park for the tree planting.
