Year 6 Weekly Post
4.10.24
Good afternoon,
Another busy week in Y6!
We have started a new unit in English, looking at two very different texts and videos linked to 'black holes'. The children have completed some short bursts of writing and next week we will be writing some longer, persuasive pieces.
In maths, we have been looking at multiplying 4-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers. We will be continuing to practise this in further lessons as it is something the children found challenging.
In Art, we completed some sketches of the coastal scenery in Swanage. We have made a display with some pictures of our time in Swanage along with some of their art work. Feel free to pop in when you collect your child to have a look at our display!
We have had two trips out this week: one for a tour of Priestlands and one for our first career session at The Balmer Lawn this afternoon. The children were brilliantly behaved at both and were a credit to you all and to the school!
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
