We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 6 Weekly Blog

20.9.24

Good afternoon,

Another very productive week in Year 6.

In maths, we have moved onto our unit on the four operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We have explored factors, multiples and the rules of divisibility. When we return from Swanage, we will continue with this unit.

In English, we have finished our unit on Dead Man's Cove and this week the children wrote their own versions of what they think should happen in chapter three. This is a great adventure book, so we will continue to read it as our 'class daily read'.

We had a fantastic Computing lesson this week, which was part of this half term's unit on communication and collaboration. The children worked on a group project where they had to collaborate on a presentation about a country. The only way they could communicate was by talking via the comment section on Google Slides. They were seated randomly around the room so that they could not have a verbal conversation. The children loved this lesson and showed great computing skills!

Just a reminder that our PE lessons are on a Thursday and a Friday. We have already had several children without their PE kits on these days, so please remind your child to bring these in for their lessons.

If anyone has any last minute Swanage questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Have a great weekend.
