Good afternoon,

It's been lovely having the children back this week. They didn't take long to get straight back into our routine, working hard in all lessons. We have started some new topics for this half-term.

In English, we have been focusing on short bursts of writing linked to the music video for a song called 'Titanium'. The children have written some brilliant character descriptions and a short story, demonstrating their understanding of some of the Year 6 skills we have previously learnt this year. Next week we will begin another short unit.

In maths, we have continued our work on Geometry, calculating the internal angles in a range of different 2D shapes. We have been really pleased with the children's progress with this.

We have started our new History topic on Ancient Sumer. This week we learnt about some of the inventions that the Sumerians made.

Next week, we will have an extra PE lesson on Wednesday, where some coaches from Brockenhurst college will be coming in, so please ensure your child has their kits on this day as well.
