Year 6 Weekly Blog Post
25.11.22
Hello everyone,
Year 6 have been working hard on our fractions topic this week, and have moved on to finding decimal and percentage equivalents. We will continue with this work next week, applying this to more complex problems.
In English, we have finished our unit on the book 'Floodland'. The children have explored and written diary entries this week, in role as Zoe, the main character.
In Science today, the children have been completing an investigation. The question that they were trying to answer is 'Does having more moons result in more light hitting a planet'. The children planned their own investigations, coming up with their own hypotheses and methods. They used mirrors, torches, log boxes and objects for planets. We were really impressed with their ability to plan an investigation from scratch and then write a conclusion based on their results.
Just a reminder: our PE lessons are now on a Thursday and a Friday. The children need their PE kits in on both of these days, but they should also have them in each day just in case there is a change of plan due to weather, or we have any additional sessions or competitions.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
