Dear parents and carers,

This week we have completed the assessment of times tables. The children have each been given a sheet (different to the child sat next to them) with a times table out of order. They have then been given a minute to complete. If your child had any incorrect, they will have had that times table included in the pack sent home to learn. We greatly appreciate your support with this as efficient use of multiplication tables has a positive impact on their maths.

In reading we have completed our unit of work on the book What a Waste. The children have been practising the skill of understanding words in context.

In writing the children have written their own acrostic poems using the 'power of three' and a repeating verb line.

In science we are continuing our work on fossils, geological time and evolution. Today we were learning about how  scientists use fossils, along with other pieces of evidence, to work out how organisms have evolved.
