Year 5 Blog
Week beginning 15.07.24
Dear parents and carers,
Wow, what a fantastic KS2 production! Huge congratulations to all the actors, singers and dancers. It was a truly magical event and we are all so proud of you.
Can every child please bring in a large, strong carrier bag, like a 'bag for life' type thing or two strong normal carrier bags. The children have a lot of books to bring home next week.
In maths we have been continuing our work on decimal numbers and next week will move on to negative numbers.
In writing we have been exploring the characters in The Tempest and thinking about their relationships with each other.
This week in history, we looked at a map of Brockenhurst prior to the railway arriving. We identified fears that locals would have had by looking at a cartoon of the time, and completed a sorting activity identifying positives and negative views of the coming of the railways.
In D&T the children have completed their cam toys. They have designed, made and evaluated their toys, and we are super impressed with how creative and innovative they have been. Thank you Year 5 for all your enthusiasm and passion!
Have a fantastic weekend.
