Dear parents and carers,

We are now in full flow for the KS2 Production. Year 5 have been creating their dance and practising some of the other songs they need to know. We have attached a link which the children can use at home- there are a lot of lyrics to learn!

In maths this week we have moved onto our shape unit. The children created a cube, to help them learn faces/edges and vertices and apply this knowledge to other 3-dimensional shapes. They have also been grappling with ‘translation’.

All children completed their plan for their formal report. We had great fun on Tuesday starting with a basic sentence, using whiteboards to up-level with formal language and technical vocabulary. We hope that their reports show just how far their writing journey in Year 5 has come.

This week, we looked at National Parks in America, particularly The Everglades in Florida, and how they are similar and different to our National Parks in the UK.
