Dear parents and carers,

In writing this week, we have been focusing on the ‘mood’ of a setting; using ambitious vocabulary and figurative language.  Attention in spelling has been on the use of spelling strategies (syllable parts and phonemes) to aide the learning of spellings.

Maths has focused on understanding and applying the link between tenths, hundredths, thousandths and decimals.

In geography we are looking at the ‘cultural capital’ that the national parks of the United Kingdom give us.

In science we started investigating pulley systems and thought more about mechanisms and how we use them in real life.

In PE the children were practising for sports day.
