Year 5 Blog
Week beginning 10.07.23
Dear parents and carers,
The Year 5 children gave a fantastic KS2 production singing performance to KS1 and parents on Wednesday this week. They are looking forward to the final performance this evening, and will all have earnt a restful weekend.
Sports Day was a huge amount of fun and the children showed great resilience trying their hardest in all races! We have some fantastic sports' people in Year 5, and it has been a joy to watch them push themselves in PE this year.
In writing we have been continuing our work on The Tempest, and this week we have been studying the characters Prospero, Miranda and Caliban.
In reading we have been learning more about North America by undertaking some research on the brilliant website, Kids National Geographic.
In D&T the children have designed their cam toy in preparation for making them next week. There are some fantastic designs.
We have not set spellings on Ed Shed last week or this week but have instead attached some revision spellings to this blog page for the children to learn from the Year 5/6 government spelling list.
Please can every child bring in a strong carrier bag next week to take their books home in. Thank you.
Have a great weekend.
The Year 5 Team
