Dear parents and carers,

 We have now completed our poetry unit based on the book Love That Dog by Sharon Creech. The children have produced some excellent poetry and learnt a lot about syllable count, rhyming pattern and vocabulary choice.

For reading, we have been finding information about countries in Europe using a children’s website.

Miss Bowler introduced the children to their topic on mountains, generating a lot of discussion about the heights of the mountains studied. The children have been keen to find out more information about mountains for the geography working wall.

We had great fun in the classroom today trying different winter soups for our seasonal food design and technology unit. Many of the children were very brave in trying different soups that they had never tried before.
