Happy Friday! We had our final art session focusing on Turner this week. The class worked hard to create some lovely collages using a range of different textured paper. The class all focused on bringing their pictures to life through collaging and they look great!

In English, we have been looking at a picture book called ‘Flood’. We have made inferences about the characters’ thoughts and feelings and explored the sequence of events within the text. We have also looked at using the imagery of the text to write both expanded noun phrases and recap applying speech punctuation.

In Maths, we have been looking at related facts. We have used what we know through our times table fluency and then thought about what else we know based on this one fact. For example, if I know that 7 x 6 = 42, then I could use my knowledge of multiplying by 10 and 100 to work out that 7 x 60 = 420 and 7 x 600 = 4200. This has given us a good foundation to begin multiplying two digit numbers by a 1 digit number. Being able to recall times tables quickly and fluently really helps the children when multiplying and dividing two and three digit numbers.
