Happy Thursday everyone! I am posting our weekly blog a day early, as this time tomorrow Winter Wonderland at Brockenhurst Primary and Pre-School will be in full swing! This week we joined forces with Year 2 to make some Forest School inspired decorations to sell tomorrow. Year 4 and Year 2 worked brilliantly together and have made some wonderful decorations.

In other news this week, we have been looking at area in maths. The class have become really confident in explaining what area is and have calculated and compared area by counting squares. They have also been drawing a range of shapes with a set area and tackling a range of problem-solving and reasoning tasks.

In English, we have recapped organising our writing into paragraphs and using prepositions within our writing. We ended the week by exploring Lila’s journey up Mount Merapi and how Phillip Pullman emphasised her bravery, courage and determination.
