We have had a lovely week in Year 4. The class are really enjoying our current science unit which is all about mixtures and separating them. Last week we explored different mixtures and this week we looked at different substances that would dissolve to make a solution. The class had some fantastic predictions for what they thought would and would not dissolve!

In maths, we have been using our knowledge of place value to compare and order numbers. The children have become really fluent when looking at the numbers and comparing each digit to determine their value. We have also been using the vocabulary ascending and descending when ordering numbers. We then moved on to looking at Roman numerals which the class thoroughly enjoyed!

In English this week the class have edited and published our writing. I was very impressed with the class’s effort and determination when publishing. They focussed brilliantly on their presentation and added some wonderful illustrations - the outcome looks fantastic!
