Year 4
Year 4 - 21.06.2024
What a lovely, sunny week it has been! We took our science learning outside this week and carried out a habitat survey. We then used this information to create classification keys about the living things found in our school grounds. This week we have continued to work on our dance for the production, which is coming along well. It is wonderful to have such enthusiasm from Year 4! We are also continuing to work on the songs, which you can practise at home too - https://alpha-preparatory-school.j2bloggy.com/Alpha-Music/wizard-of-oz-musical-songs/
In English this week we have been writing descriptions of Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. The class generated a range of vocabulary and focused on describing his appearance and character. We worked on conveying the message that is not your usual Viking hero!
In maths, we have been looking at time. We have recapped the months of the year and have been converting between both months, weeks and years, and seconds, minutes and hours. Next week, we will be looking at converting between an analogue clock and digital. It would be great if this could be reinforced at home to support their fluency and confidence in telling the time. This link is great to use if you do not have an analogue clock at home - https://www.topmarks.co.uk/time/teaching-clock
We hope you all enjoy the weekend.
