It has been a great week in Year 4! Group one enjoyed another week at Forest School whilst the rest of the class created some fantastic dragon art using pastels. In other news, we have started to choreograph a dance for the production. The children have some fantastic, creative ideas and we are looking forward to working on this next week.

In English, we have started looking at a new text for writing, ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ by Cressida Cowell. We have explored the first three chapters, looking at vocabulary and Hiccup who is one of the main characters. We have mapped out his feelings and emotions, generated a range of vocabulary and planned a description for next week.

In maths, we have continued focusing on money. We have used our knowledge of pounds and pence and solved a variety of addition and subtraction problems. We worked out the totals of amounts, looked at how many items we could buy with a particular budget and used number lines to calculate the difference between two amounts.
