Year 4
Year 4 - 24.05.2024
We have had a lovely last week of this half term. The class continue to thoroughly enjoy their ukulele lessons with Mrs Thomas! We will be putting on a final musical performance for you before the end of the academic year. Another highlight this week was Sports Day! We were lucky to have a dry day in between all of the rain and enjoy being outside together, cheering each other on.
In maths, we have been ordering, comparing and rounding decimal numbers and have arrived at the end of our decimals unit. It has been brilliant to see the children’s confidence grow when dealing with decimals. They were able to fluently round them and show their understanding on number lines.
In English, we have been continuing to explore our text, ‘The Lost Words’. In preparation for writing our own informative nature leaflets, we have explored a range of real leaflets and looked at ordering paragraphs cohesively. We then carried out some research on wild flowers which the children really enjoyed!
After half term, we will be looking at money and time in maths. To support your children at home, any opportunity to use money and revisit telling the time would be hugely beneficial.
We hope you all have a great Bank Holiday weekend and half term.
