Year 4
Year 4 - 01.03.2024
We have had a good week here in year 4! In art, we drew and painted our own Saxon inspired jewellery. The children worked really hard to include lots of detail and the finished product looked fantastic! We definitely have some budding artists in year 4.
In English, we have been recapping expanded noun phrases in class and worked on how to expand further by including a prepositional phrase. We then ended by planning our own descriptions of Fenrir to warn others that he is on the loose! The class have come up with some fantastic ideas to ensure the audience understand seriousness of the situation!
In maths, we have been dividing two and three digit numbers by one digit with remainders. The class have used dienes, place value charts, part whole models and bus stop method to support them in this area of learning. This a challenging area of learning and I am so proud of how the class have been resilient and resourceful. They are now becoming fluent at explaining their methods and applying to problem solving tasks.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
