Year 4 - 02.02.2024
We have reached the end of another week in Year 4. A highlight this week was learning all about the Children’s Air Ambulance. They joined us today for a very informative worship all about the fantastic work that they do. We found out lots of new, interesting facts. Thank you all for helping raise money by coming in wearing non-school uniform and making a donation. This will have a great impact on the work that they do.
The class have been working well on their dance routines for our annual Brock Danceathon! They are putting together their routines in house teams and have been working really well collaboratively. We are all looking forward to celebrating dance across the school next week.
In maths this week, we have been looking at multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. The class have a great understanding of this concept, and we have ensured there are no misconceptions around what happens to the numbers when they are multiplied or divided by 100 – for example, knowing it is not by adding or taking away zeros! They have then been challenged through a range of reasoning and problem-solving tasks.
In English, we have been looking at fronted adverbials and plural possessive apostrophes. We have used our text as a model for how these are used and have really progressed at making and writing sentences that include them. Well done year 4.
We hope you all have a great weekend.
