We have had a great week in year 4. In English, we have continued to explore our class text. This week we have focused on identifying speech and punctuating it correctly. The class have worked incredibly hard with remembering all that needs to be included and I am very impressed with the progress they have made. We then wrote conversations between the characters in the book.

In maths we have continued our place value learning. We have used number lines up to 10,000 and then ended the week with beginning to round numbers to the nearest 10. There is a great game for rounding available online here: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/rocket-rounding

Our science learning this half-term is all about solids, liquids and gases. We spent our lesson this week observing different items and using scientific reasoning to help us group them. We had some fantastic discussions about mayonnaise, a blown up glove and perfume!

In art, we have been learning about Andy Goldsworthy. Inspired by his nature art, the class headed outside to collect some different items and brought them back into class to draw.

Homework will be set online every Tuesday. Next week will be spellings only. I will give the children a copy of their Spelling Shed login details next week.

Library books and reading books will be changed on every Wednesday.

PE takes place on a Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure PE kits are in school daily.
