We have had a lovely week in year 4. In English, we have started a new unit using a book called ‘The Lost Words’. This is a beautiful book full of fantastic artwork and poems. We are enjoying exploring the text and went on a senses walk around the school ground to help develop our vocabulary.

In maths, we have been recapping addition and subtraction and applying our knowledge to a range of different problem solving tasks. We are also having a push on our times tables fluency. We are using ‘Hit the Button’ and ‘Times Tables Rockstars’ as well as singing along to lots of multiplication songs. There are a variety of songs on YouTube that are great at helping the children remember the number sequences. It would be great if you could support your children with this at home as well. The children have now been taught the all times tables up to 12 x and the expectation is that they can recall multiplication facts fluently.
