Good afternoon,

We have had a great week in year 4! 

In maths this week, we have been working on money. We have been converting between pounds and pence as well as working out word problems when giving change. The Home Learning on Mathletics this week  is a recap on rounding to the nearest 100 which we learnt about last week. 

In English, we have started a new writing topic, all about a short film called 'Once in a Lifetime'. The children have studied the film closely, thinking about the character's feelings as well as writing their own ending to the film. We will continue with this work next week. 

We have enjoyed our Geography topic so far where we have been learning about what is beyond Disney World in Florida. The children have been practising lots of map skills so far!

The children should have all brought their Reading Records home and also a library book and an additional reading book. They should be encouraged to fill their record out themselves. They have their log in details for Mathletics and Spelling Shed in their Reading Records so that they can complete their weekly homework. Just as a reminder, homework is set on a Wednesday and due in on the following Wednesday.
