Year 4
News of the week - 11/10/19
In Year 4 this week, we have started our new topic in maths of addition and subtraction. We are building up slowly, revisiting some of our learning from year 3, but all of the children have demonstrated that they have a confident method to use when tackling addition and subtraction questions. Next week, we will be progressing on to working with larger number and more complex problems.
In English, the children have planned and written their very own 'quest' stories, using a similar structure from 'How to Train Your Dragon'. The children have thought really carefully about how to develop an interesting plot in their stories. We are still enjoying reading the book in class too!
The children have planned and conducted their own experiements in Science all about separating mixtures.
We have also started to learn about earthquakes in our topic lessons and will continue this learning for the rest of the half term.
Spellings and mathletics homework went live on Wednesday - please encourage the children to complete these by next Wednesday.
Thank you for your continued support.
