We Enjoy and Excel in the Presence of God

Year 3

Friday Blog - Thursday 7th November

Good Evening Everyone,

Despite the rather grey and gloomy weather, Roe Deer Class have had a fab first week back. In English, the children have wowed me with their writing. On Monday, they were able to design their own animile, using names we borrowed from the poet James Reeves. The children have all written a poem about their created creature, which we have published and illustrated today. They look amazing! Some of the children were determined to make their poems rhyme and I was impressed with their resilience to keep working at something that was very tricky.

In Science, we have started a new topic about light. We thought about sources of light as an introduction to the topic. From next week we will be carrying out some investigations. It would be helpful if your child has a torch that they could bring into school on Tuesdays for the next few weeks. We do have some in school, but not enough for 1 each. We're calling it 'Torch Tuesdays!'

I hope you haven't forgotten that it's an INSET day tomorrow. I hope the children enjoy their long weekend,

Clare
