Year 3
Friday Blog - Friday 7th June
Good afternoon everyone,
Year 3 had such a fantastic day at Beaulieu on Wednesday. They were all beautifully behaved and so engaged with the activities we did. The sun shone and we all had lots of fun. It was a great day out. I'm now trying to model my teaching style on a Victorian Governess, but the children say I'm not strict enough!!!!
While back at school, we have started our maths unit on time. At the start of the week, some of the children were finding this very difficult. We have all dug deep, found our learning resilience and kept trying and definitely, by the end of the week, we have been feeling more confident. Telling the time is definitely a life skill and not something that can be learnt during a 2 week unit at school. Please support your child's learning by practising telling the time with them at home. Please remember they are allowed to wear a watch at school.
We have also started to learn the songs for the KS2 summer production. You will all soon be very familiar with the words as we have been singing them non-stop!
I've been swimming today and it was great to see how much progress the children have made since I saw them last, well done to all of them. Mrs Shilton reports that the rest of the children had a great afternoon at forest school and that she saw lots of team work going on - well done to them too.
Have a lovely weekend,
Clare
