Year 3
Friday Blog - Friday 24th May
Good afternoon Everyone!
We've had lots of fun this week in Year 3. The highlight of our week was building our life-sized sculpture. The children were inspired by the works of Antony Gormley to make this impressive collaborative construction! They worked together in teams to create each body part and then fixed him all together. He did manage about 24 hours standing up, before falling on me during Maths!
Obviously, Sports Day was another high point. Thank goodness the weather was kind to us and we could be outside in the sunshine for all the races. It was lovely that so many of you could join us. The children all tried their best and were super at cheering on their friends too.
Back in class, we have written stories inspired by The Green Ship. We published them today, including creating a front cover and the children were all very proud of their work.
In preparation for our next maths unit on time, we have some class watches that the children are taking it in turns to wear to practise telling the time. A couple of parents have asked about the watch, so I'll include a link for the watch we are using in school.
Have a fantastic half term,
Clare
