Year 3
Friday Blog - Friday 19th April
We have had a great week in Year 3. The children have come back very refreshed from the break and ready to work their hardest for me. It's been great that the weather has improved a little too.
We started a new book in English, a classic this time - The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. the children have been gripped by the book so far and it has inspired us to write some excellent character descriptions of the Iron Man. We're looking forward to reading what happens next.
Our art unit links to our book - we are looking at the work of the artist Antony Gormley, starting with his work called Iron Baby. Many thanks for all the baby photos. We had great fun looking at how cute they all were and then all had a go at sketching themselves as a baby.
In science we have started our new topic of Animals: Skeletons and movement. The children loved trying to draw their own skeletons out on the playground - it was great fun!
I didn't set homework on Wednesday as we had not completed enough Maths or had our spelling lesson, but will set it now for the children!
Please, if you have had another swimming letter, could these be returned to school asap. Many thanks.
Have a great weekend,
Clare
