Year 3
Friday Blog - Friday 19th January
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you liked the look of our amazing cityscapes at the top of the blog. In Georaphy we are looking at Megacities, a city with a population over 10 million people. This blows our minds as we just can't imagine this number of people, particularly as we live in a small village!
Our artwork is linked to our work on cities. We firstly drew cityscapes, using just pencil lines (and sometimes a ruler). We have gone on to paint these amazing cityscapes that use blocks of colour as the foundation for each building. Our art was inspired by a Dutch artist called Ton Schulten. They look amazing on the wall together.
Another good week at swimming. The children were less nervous this week, although there were a few wobbles. We talked (a lot) about trying to get changed quickly and efficiently at the end of the session.
My second group for Forest School missed out on one of their sessions, despite our best efforts to catch them up at the end of term. They will have their 1 catch-up session next week on Wednesday 24th January. Please can group 2 children bring their usual forest school clothes and boots for that day.
Have a lovely weekend,
The Year 3 Team
