Year 3
Friday Blog - Friday 8th December
Good afternoon everyone,
We have had another busy week in Year 3. It seems like ages ago that we walked to the church to enjoy the KS1 Nativity, but it was only Monday. We were all very impressed by the younger children's performances!
This week we have read a beautiful book, Coming Home by Michael Morpurgo. It is a festive tale of a robin's migration back home for Christmas. the children have loved it. We've listened to Michael Morpurgo read the story and watched the Waitrose advert that it inspired. We've drawn some beautiful story maps and have written our own passages from the story in the style of Michael Morpurgo!
In maths we have been working on multiplication and division and have started to learn the 3 x table. I have also shown all the children how to log on to TTRockstars. They have loved it. Their usernames and passwords are in the front of their reading diaries. It os a great way to practise and learn their times tables. Children are expected to know all tables, up to 12 x 12, by the end of Year 4. This includes knowing all the related division facts too.
We're all looking forwards to our last week of school for 2023! Have a lovely weekend,
Clare
