Year 3
Friday Blog - Friday 29th October
Good afternoon everybody,
In English we started a new picture book called The Barnabus project by The Fan Brothers, which the children have greatly enjoyed. We have started by discussing themes in the story and then thought about different statements about what happens in the book. The children had to decide whether they agreed or disagreed each time and be able to justify their opinions. We had some very interesting debates.
Our place value unit in Maths has come to an end and we finished off today with some problem solving activities. The children were able to choose which problems they wanted to tackle and demonstrate to me their mathematical and organisational skills.
We have been talking a lot about behaviour this week and how to support each other to make the right decisions. Some of the children are struggling at times to stay focussed and not distract their friends around them.
We did change library books this week for those that were in school. Going forward library book change will be on Tuesdays and reading book change is on Thursdays.
On Wednesdays, the children have music with Mr Thomas and due to timetabling we go out for an early break. This makes it tricky for any children trying to buy tuck. It would be easier for the children to bring a snack from home on Wednesdays.
Have a great weekend,
The Year 3 Team
