Year 3 Blog - 30.6.23
Another fabulous but busy week in year 3. The children continue to work hard demonstrating great perseverance and resilience in their learning.
The Key Stage 2 rehearsals are in full swing and the children are demonstrating their great dancing and singing when learning the songs. A little reminder if you haven’t done already please ensure your child’s costume for the performance is in school from Wednesday next week (5.6.23). Also to help us create the back drop/ staging we would like cardboard boxes, different sizes. Please only these in from Wednesday of next week and not before (5.6.23). Thank you for your understanding and support.
In English, as we come to end of our text driver outcome, the children have been presenting their night box poems in their neatest handwriting, paying particular focus on the layout and format of poem writing. The children have also thoroughly enjoyed using their ICT skills when typing up their version of The Magic Box, based on Kit Wright’s.
In Maths, the children have been demonstrating their knowledge through mathematical quizzes. The children have worked extremely hard on these and I am very proud of each and every one of them.
Homework this week
- Reading your school book (record in reading diary)
- Spelling (Edshed)
- Times Tables – children should have come home with their timetable cards before half term. Please practise these, there are a number of ways you can practise; Hit the button, TTRockstars. The aim is your child can quickly answer times table questions. If they are secure practise the inverse – calculation.
As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us on: e.townsend@brockenhurst-primary.hants.sch.uk and r.platt@brockenhurst-primary.hants.sch.uk To help us ensure there is consistency please contact both Emma and I.
Enjoy your weekend and we look forward to seeing the children on Monday.
