Year 3 Blog- 26.5.23
The children have worked really hard this week and we have been so impressed by their creative ideas.
In Maths, we have been learning about geometry, discussing different lines including vertical, horizontal, parallel and perpendicular. We have been discussing and constructing shapes using nets, in particular prisms and pyramids. The children used mathematical vocabulary to describe these including; vertices, edges and faces. If you would to like to further this learning, go on a shape hunt to find 3D shapes see if your child can describe them.
In English, the children created their own news reports about our film text driver 'Ruckus', choosing some super vocabulary and writing in the past tense. They made interesting reading, great work year 3.
In Jigsaw, we completed our learning on relationships, discussing appreciation of our friends and family. The children had some thoughtful ideas why their friends and family members are special to them. This was lovely to hear and share.
In Art, the children demonstrated great creative thinking, resilience, perseverance and team work when creating their own Iron Man, there was certainly a ‘buzz’ in the classroom!
The children have worked extremely hard this term and we feel very proud of them.
