Year 3 Blog 9.3.23
Another super week in year 3, the children are working so hard!
We are really proud that the children are becoming independent and resilient learners.
This week, we used the fantastic wolf facts homework, to help us plan, write and edit our own leaflets to inform rabbit of the dangers wolves bring. The children have loved creating theses! They have worked really hard to organise their thinking and ideas. Next week we will be moving onto our next text driver ‘The Promise’ by Nicola Davies
In Maths, we started our next unit on multiplication and division, focusing on using our times tables knowledge to support (x3, x4, x8). Well done to all the children who keep practising these at home, it so important they are fluent with these. We have practised solving inverse calculations and problem solving, using base ten, bar model and number line to demonstrate our understanding. We continue to develop our reasoning skills.

It is so wonderful to see so many children reading at home, little and often is so important. It is so important to encourage and foster a love of reading so reading a range of books/magazines/comics is really important but for fluency and progression in reading skills children must read their school book. When reading at home, please make a note in their diary so we know they are ready for a new book, thank you.
