Year 3 Blog - 30th September 2022
Wow! How are we already finishing week 4. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know all of the children over the last few weeks. They continue to amaze me with their fantastic ideas during our learning.
This week in English, we celebrated our learning about 'The Stone Age Boy', by re-enacting different activities from the Stone Age including hunting, creating cave paintings and cooking. The children all showed great imagination and acting skills. They had so much fun and asked for more!
In Maths, we have been ensuring our place value knowledge is secure and making links in our learning. We have also practised counting in 50s and our 4 times table. It is great to see so many children practising their 4 times table at home using TTRockstars and MathsEd to support their learning. Keep up the good work.
The children were so excited to start their Forest School sessions this week. We observed so many fantastic links in the children's learning including; trying to build a Stone Age hut using mud for the walls.
During our PSHE lessons, we have been discussing what attributes make a good friend, sharing different friendship scenarios and how to work through these.
Reminders
- Homework is set on Edshed every Thursday and should be completed by the following Wednesday. This will include spelling, maths and phonics games.
- Please ensure your child reads at home and note it in their reading diary, so we know to change their book. Book change is on Thursdays.
