Year 2
22/11/24
Hello,
Another busy week for Year 2! It was so lovely to go out in the snow with the children on Thursday - they were so excited and amazed.
The children have started looking at puppets and are very excited about their DT project.
In English we have been using the conjunctions 'and' 'or' and 'but' to join two two parts of a sentence together.
For maths we have had lots of practice at adding 2 two digit numbers for example 23+14 or 45 + 27.
Our spelling patterns this week have been ck words such as quick, sock and duck. Words ending in K such as 'milk' and 'tusk' and words ending in 'tch' such as 'match' and 'pitch'.
On Thursday we had an Interfaith morning and learnt lots about Sikhism.
We held our Parent Workshop on Thursday after school. I have attached a couple of the maths Knowledge organisers and the Reading bookmark with useful questions to ask your child. The main message of the Workshop was to try and hear your child read their book three times as this helps with decoding, comprehension and fluency. In maths, practice counting and recognising numbers to 100 and addition and subtraction. The powerpoint from the session is attached.
We have finally got the Collins Hub logins and they have been sent home with the children - please let me know if you need any help with this.
Nativity rehearsals are in full swing. Please could we have costumes in by the 28th November. If you need any help with costumes please let us know.
Have a great weekend.
