Year 2
Friday 22nd March 2024
We have had an exciting end to the week in Penguin class with our Explorer Day! We have had lots of fun learning about different explorers including Amy Johnson, Christopher Columbus, Neil Armstrong and Ranulph Fiennes whilst also thinking about whether we have the qualities needed to be an Explorer. The children all looked amazing too; thank you very much for your support with their costumes.
In English this week we have been learning about conjunctions and applying them to our writing linked to our new text the Big Book of the Blue and in maths we have continued our learning on measurements focusing a little bit more on centimetres and starting to measure in metres.
We have also started looking at a new text in guided reading called the Great Explorer. We haven't read the book yet but have made predictions on what adventure Tom the little boy in the book will go on.
In PSHE we have carried on looking at healthy eating and in RE we have finished our unit focused on the good news that Jesus brings.
Have a lovely weekend and hopefully spring will continue to make an appearance!
