Happy Friday!
This week in Penguin class we have been learning how to use the prefix ‘un’ and the suffix ‘ful’ by identifying words with these, acting out the meaning of the words and writing sentences which include them. We will be using these words when we write letters based on the book Tidy next week. We have also started exploring the book Emperor's Egg in guided reading - Penguins are really enjoying all the facts in this book!
In maths we have been solving money problems and have also been recapping subtracting 2 digit numbers not crossing 10 and across 10 using practical resources.
In science we have been exploring how materials change with physical force such as squashing and twisting and in geography this afternoon we are going to be comparing the weather in Kampong Ayer to Brockenhurst- Kampong Ayer is definitely a lot warmer! Forest school group 1 have also enjoyed another freezing cold session although they were all wrapped up super warm so didn’t mind! Whilst they were outside group 2 carried on with their art and have made their own African patterns using oil pastels - they are bright, colourful and really detailed!
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you next week!
