Year 2
Friday 6th October 2023
Happy Friday!
We have had loads of fun in English this week! The week started with the adults turning into robots and the children giving us instructions on how to make jam sandwiches! We then practised our instruction skills with our partners taking it in turns to give them different things to make out of Lego whilst sat back to back and we have finished the week exploring the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts. This all links to our new book How to Wash a Woolley Mammoth which the children absolutely love!
In maths we have been ordering and comparing numbers and objects. Hopefully your child will be able to tell you what the crocodile does! In science we have been focusing on why it's important to wash our hands and we also carried out an experience with glitter to see who is good at washing their hands and who needs a little more practice! In geography we have been comparing the Arctic and Antarctica and in PSHE this afternoon we are going to explore rewards and consequences.
On another note today your child should bring home a letter about our trip to SeaCity after half term. Please could I kindly ask that these are returned as soon as possible. Also if there is anyone who would be available to help on our trip that would be amazing - if you could drop me an email to let me know you are available that would be really helpful! Thank you very much!
Well done on another super weeks work Penguin - gives yourselves a big ketchup clap for all your hard work! Have a lovely weekend, enjoy the sunshine and we will see you next week!
