Year 2

It has been another lovely week in Penguin class with the children enjoying the sunshine!
In English we have been learning about imperative verbs and have practised using these in our writing and in guided reading we have continued exploring The Tear Thief including making wanted posters.
In maths we have been practising subtracting and adding 3, 1-digit numbers and in PE we have started preparing for Sports Day. We have also continued our history unit about the history of the school with the children writing questions to ask people who went here many years ago - they have come up with some amazing questions!
We have also carried out a science experiment investigating which materials act as the best bungee rope for our cuddly toys. Penguins had a fantastic afternoon carrying out this experiment and it was lovely to meet lots of their cuddly toys too!
Thank you very much to everyone for sending in your recycling! We still need a bit more so if you could keep sending in our way that would be amazing! Also just a reminder that children need a sun hat and water bottle in school every day - thank you!
Have a brilliant weekend, enjoy the sunshine and I will see you on Monday!
Miss Michael :)
