Year 2
Friday 3rd March 2023
Happy Friday!
I think the children’s favourite part of this week has been getting to dress up for World Book Day! It is so lovely to see and hear them getting excited by books and reading!
On the subject of books, in guided reading we have been exploring Jim and the Beanstalk and in English we have continued our unit on the True Story of the 3 Little Pigs. This week the children have sequenced the story, started to use commas in a list linked to the story and have also decided on whether they think the wolf was good or bad. Their arguments for and against this are fantastic with the children being confident to express varying views.
In maths we have been recapping our place value knowledge and have started to look at the inverse and in science we have learnt about recycling including which materials can and can’t be recycled. In RE we have done some drama and in history we are continuing to learn about great explorers.
Penguins give yourselves a huge round of a claws for a super weeks work and I will see you next week.
Have a brilliant weekend!
Miss Michael :)
