Year 2
Friday 27th January 2023
One of our favourite parts of this week has been going to see the panto - the children really enjoyed the performance and found it very funny too!
In English this week we have finished our unit based on the book Tidy writing letters to explain why we need to care for the New Forest and how we can do this. We have also started our new book Lila and the Secret of the Rain with the children making predictions as to what will happen next (lots of them were really close) and plotting a mood graph of the main characters emotions.
In maths we have been working hard to secure our knowledge of time. The children found o’clock, half past and quarter past/to really easy but have found the 5 minute intervals a bit tricky. If you could practice this with your child at home just by randomly asking them the time it would help enormously! We will continue to do the same in school too.
We also have some dancers of the future in Penguin class! In PE we have been working on a dance unit with the children learning lots of new moves and starting to sequence these together.
Penguins another super weeks work - you are all superstars and I am very proud of you for your continued determination and enthusiasm to learn! Ketchup claps all round!
I hope you have a lovely restful weekend and I will see you next week!
Miss Michael :)
