We have had loads of fun in Penguin class this week!
The children had an incredible time at SeaCity Museum on Tuesday. During their visit they got to handle some artefacts, work out where on the Titanic different smells came from(smelly feet was definitely not their favourite!), explore how many compartments of the Titanic would be able to fill up before it sank and go on a guided tour of the museum learning lots of interesting facts as they went around. I was so proud of how well the children behaved too with all of them listening to instructions and using their manners - well done Penguins...give yourselves a big whoosh!
This week, we have also made Titanic inspired hats which the children have enjoyed wearing today with their spotty and stripy outfits!
In English we have continued reading Samson’s Titanic Journey and in maths we have started to explore equal groups.
Nativity rehearsals are also continuing with the children's performance getting better every day - keep practicing your lines Penguins!
On the topic of the nativity please could all nativity costumes come into school on Monday in a named plastic bag.
Also if anyone has toy sheep, a play tea pot and cup or an old suitcase that they would be happy for us to use please could you send these in too. We need lots of sheep!
If you have any questions about costumes please do not hesitate to catch me at the end of the day and thank you for your support!
Have a lovely weekend everyone - it looks like the sun is forecast to come out and the coats and wellies might not be needed!
Miss Michael :)
