Year 2
Friday 4th November
It has been a busy week in Penguin class!
In maths we have been learning how to subtract 1 digit numbers from 2 digit numbers using concrete resources and pictures too and in English we have planned and written our own instructions.
In guided reading we have read a traditional tale and answered different types of questions based on it and in science we have been matching offspring to their Mums.
Father Christmas's elves have also asked if we would help them make some Christmas decorations out of felt as they are very busy and don’t have time. Penguins decided they would absolutely love to help so for our DT this term we will be designing and creating our own Christmas tree decorations.
And finally keeping with the Christmas theme we have started learning and practicing our nativity songs. The children will be coming home with their parts and lines on Monday.
Just a reminder Monday is also our Titanic day. The children are welcome to dress up as first, second or third class passengers if they would like. First class passengers can be anything smart and third class anything old - don’t spend any money on costumes though!
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the fireworks!
Miss Michael :)
