Year 2
Friday 30th September 2022
It has been another brilliant week in Penguin class with the children continuing to be the shining superstars they are!
In English, we have been learning how to write in the past tense as well as writing our own recounts of Blue Penguins adventures.
In maths, we have been practicing counting in 2, 5 and 10’s and applying this knowledge to problems. If you are in the car over the weekend and fancy a loud journey ask your child to practice these with you - they are very good at counting forwards and backwards!
In science, we have been learning about microhabitats and exploring animals that live in these in our sensory garden at school and in geography we have been learning about the Sahara desert and the adaptations a camel has to enable it to survive.
Thank you very much for supporting your child with their reading, maths fluency cards and Spelling Shed homework this week. I must say a massive sorry though as something has gone wrong with the Maths Shed homework! With this in mind please don’t worry about it this week and I think it will work as it should next week! Thank you all for trying to do it though!
Penguins give yourself 5 whooshes for being amazing all week, have a fantastic weekend and I will see you on Monday!
Miss Michael :)
