Round up of the week

English

Year 2 transformed into authors this week, as not only did they write an account of their trip to Minstead, the children also wrote a creative story to end their unit: ‘Lila and the Secret of Rain’. The children thoroughly enjoyed expressing their ideas, and I took pleasure in reading all of their lovely stories.

Maths

This week, year 2 have been practising their times table facts whilst experimenting with different ways to multiply and divide. Towards the end of the week, year 2 even had a go at tackling some word problems so that they could apply this.

Science

The children have had a science based week, where they have looked at different materials. In particular, the children engaged in a practical where they tested the properties of different fabrics. The children were great at investigating and applying their prior knowledge.
