Year 2
Year 2 - 08.03.2019
We are at the end of a great week in year 2. We had a wonderful world book day where the whole school explored ‘The Tunnel’. In year 2 we produced a setting description using our senses and decorated the boarder of our work in the same style as the illustrations in the book. All children were given a world book day voucher which is valid until 31st March.
In English we have been collating information about the explorers we have been learning about. We now have lots of information and interesting facts, ready to write up into a booklet on Monday.
In maths we have been focussing on finding 2/4 and 3/4 of shapes. We are working very hard to use what we know already about fractions, including how many equal parts quarters have, in order to explore the meaning of 2/4 and ¾ and how this looks of shapes and objects.
This week have been focussing on positivity and kindness. We are thinking about how powerful kindness is and how we can show this to both our friends and others around school. We are recording our acts of kindness and positive experiences about school is a class jar and spent some of this afternoon sharing them. I am very proud of the children and would like to thank them for their kind, thoughtful comments that were in the jar.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Miss Blick
