Year 2
Year 2 - 07.12.18
We have had a lovely week in year 2. The whole school is feeling festive and we have decorated the classroom doors. In year 2 we decided to do a snowman surrounded by snowflakes. The children worked wonderfully together and we are very pleased with the final outcome!
We have been busy practising the Nativity in church this week. Year R and KS1 are working so hard and the show is coming together well. We are very proud of all of the children. If you are unsure of the arrangements for next week, please see the previous blog post which has all the details you will need. The PTA will be with us in church during the evening performance selling drinks and mince pies.
In maths we have been thinking about measurement. We have measured a variety of different items in the classroom and have begun comparing these measurements using <, > and =. We are also thinking about using the most appropriate unit of measure (cm or m).
In English we are continuing to explore ‘Samson’s Titanic Journey’. The children have been learning about expanded noun phrases. We have identified these in the story and written descriptions using our own.
Thank you so much for all of the boats that have been made. They look fantastic! The children were great at explaining why they had chosen to use certain materials and have enjoyed testing them in school today.
***Reminder*** Please can you ensure that all items of children’s clothing are named.
Have a great weekend.
